Kathy Urschel, Massage Therapy
Hi, I am Kathy Urschel. I have been a member of Personal Fitness for several
years. I was a professional cyclist for many years, competing in the Atlanta
Paralympics. I was blessed to receive a silver medal at the height of my career in
Atlanta. Unfortunately a few years after, I was involved in a devastating cycling
accident leaving me paralyzed on my right side. I was told I would never walk again.
With 100% determination of myself and Personal Fitness I am able to walk. I then
returned to school and became a Massage Therapist. Though I no longer complete at the
Olympic level, I still enjoy cycling and occasionally enter local cycling races if
tandem divisions are available.
Along with my Masters from SU as a Rehab Councilor and my Massage Therapy license I
am concentrating on the athlete's needs at this time. Whether weekend warriors or
structured ironman competitors, I know the rigorous demands you place on yourself and
your muscles. I am here to offer myo-fascia release work, deep connective tissue
release and Swedish massage (relaxation and muscle toning).
Take some time out of your hectic day and reward yourself and your muscles. I will
customize your needs to my schedule. My appointment book will be at the receptionist
desk at Personal Fitness.
